A primary font will be used for the brandname and a secondary font will be used for headlines, body copy and all other text. The best brand type is a custom type design developed for your brand.
I designed this classic serif digital type, based on Roman lettering. It was adjusted for optical principles and therefore contains no straight lines or exact circles and is ideal as the primary type.
Verdana, a new ultra-modern family of sans-serif typefaces named for the verdant (lush) Seattle area, was chosen to compliment the primary font Zanda.
Verdana has exceptional readability in electronic format due to the generous width and spacing of characters and included in the family are plain, bold, italic and bold italic faces.
Zanda, the primary font, will be used for the brandname and Verdana, the secondary font, will be used for headlines, body copy and all other text.
Using the primary font, ZANDA is set with generous optical kearning. The individual spaces between letters are adjusted to visually appear the same and to increase legibility at a reduced size.
The ZANDA text is now redrawn as a bold font to help with legibility at a reduced size and to allow for three dimensional manipulation planned for when combined with the other brandmark elements.
